With the advent of video sharing at youtube, thought sharing at twitter, and image sharing at instagram, we are more connected now than ever. Unfortunately, that means that bad ideas are being shared more freely and under the guise of 'expertise' than ever before. One could classify this as the era of the 'guru.'

According to the FTC, investment scams accounted for more than $4.5 billion dollars in 2023 alone. Included in these are influencer led scams such as FTX and Yotta, which accounted for millions of dollars of scam loss by themselves. GVR Intelligence is a newsletter that aims to combat poor investment advice by providing investment bank level analysis for less than your average door dash fee.

So who am I that claims to be better than all of the 'gurus' online? First let me make it clear that I am no guru. I have been a retail investor/trader for 5+ years, and have spent the last 2 years as an investment strategist for a billion dollar family office, where I spent the majority of my time doing quantitative finance.

The articles found on this page are meant to be both technical and educational. They are meant to be digestible by a beginner reader, but not without effort. I'm hoping to provide too much information, in the hopes that readers can come back multiple times for future reference.
